Keynote Speaker
Dr. David J. Harding
Dr. David J. Harding, Geophysicist at NASA’s Planetary Geodynamics Laboratory in Greenbelt, Maryland will offer the keynote address to open this year’s conference. Dr. Harding conducts research in the measurement and analysis of neotectonic landforms, vegetation canopies and continental water storage and discharge, in particular by utilizing advanced airborne and space-based laser altimeter systems. He is principal investigator for a NASA Instrument Incubator Program project, "Push-Broom Laser Altimeter Demonstration for Space-Based Cryospheric Topographic and Surface Property Mapping." He is also a principal investigator in NASA's Terrestrial Hydrology Program, using ICESat data to establish design constraints and measurement requirements for future laser altimeter mission observations of inland water storage and discharge. Dr. Harding will present cutting edge LiDAR applications being developed at NASA.
